TERMS AND CONDITIONS

On this page, you can find out all of our terms & conditions, including information about deposits, cancellations and refunds.

PAYMENTS

As a registered travel agent, we take all payments for our events in advance. Payment on the day is not an option for any of our events unless a special arrangement has been made with a member of the Barcelonatours.net team.

We take a 20% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining balance must be paid by the date stated on your invoice. The 20% deposit is non-refundable, regardless of group size. The rules for final payment can be seen below:

  • Up to 40 guests – the final balance is due one week before the event
  • Over 40 guests – the final balance is due two weeks before the event.

Payments can be made by bank transfer or credit/debit card. There is a 1% surcharge on all card payments. If this is not paid, we reserve the right to ask you to pay it separately or to cancel your booking.

If the final balance is not paid when requested, your booking will be canceled and the 20% deposit will not be refunded.

CANCELATIONS

Cancelations cost us money and we have a strict cancelation policy in place.

If you cancel…

Should you cancel, the following charges apply:

  • More than 4 weeks prior to the event – 20% of the total price (or the agreed deposit)
  • Between 4 and 2 weeks prior to the event – 50% of the total price
  • Less than two weeks prior to the event – 100% of the total price.

If you want to decrease the number of guests…

If you wish to cancel on behalf of only some members, you need to do so before your final payment has been made:

  • Up to 40 guests – final numbers must be confirmed one week before the event
  • Over 40 guests – final numbers must be confirmed two weeks before the event.

Reducing the number of guests can affect your booking price, as group discounts may no longer apply or we may have to cancel the event altogether. Please see below for information about reasons we may cancel.

If we cancel…

Safety

The safety of our clients is extremely important to us. If for any reason we have to cancel due to safety concerns, we will make every effort to reschedule the activity/activities for a different time or date. If we cannot reschedule, we will offer a full or partial refund. A partial refund will apply if we have to recoup costs including but not restricted to: money we have paid to the supplier; the cost of transport to/from the activity and what we deem to be the price of time spent organizing your event.

The safety of an activity will be determined by us or by our suppliers, and the decision is final.

Boat cancelations due to weather

In the event the skipper deems the weather unsuitable/dangerous to sail then the boat trip will be canceled. You will be offered a full refund or the chance to re-schedule the trip for another day.  Unsuitable/dangerous weather is defined as heavy rain, strong winds and/or dangerous sea conditions. In the event of light rain and winds, where the skipper is happy it is safe to sail, then the trip will not be canceled and we cannot offer any refund should you choose not to take the trip.

For sailing trips reserved in the Spring or Autumn, where the weather can be cooler and more unpredictable, we suggest that our groups ensure they wear and take appropriate clothing, such as waterproof jackets.

Other reasons we may cancel

  • If we have received payment but finally are unable to honour your booking
  • You or us become insolvent/subject to a bankruptcy petition
  • If we believe that providing the service will damage our reputation
  • We decide that the reduction in numbers from the original booking makes the event impractical or uneconomical.

If we have to cancel for any of the reasons given above, we will offer a full refund of advanced payment and we will not have any further liability to you.

We hold all monies pre-paid by you in a separate bank account until the event has taken place or the cancellation policy applies. This is in accordance with the Package Travel Regulations 1992.

Insurance

We hold the relevant insurances in terms of Public Liability and that as a Registered Travel Agency. We would strongly suggest you arrange your own Travel Insurance, to cover any medical emergencies, losses, thefts during your stay in Barcelona, or any flight delays or cancellations which would impact your bookings with us.

Sustainability
We are passionate about sustainable travel and tourism. Barcelona is a beautiful city and it’s up to all of us to keep it that way! So please…

  • Buy from local businesses
  • Don’t throw trash on the floor in the streets
  • Don’t leave trash on the beach
  • Recycle when possible
  • Bring/buy reusable water bottles & coffee cups to reduce plastic waste
  • Be respectful of the locals and shops (see “Behaviour” section).

Important: Problems or queries during your event

Our office is closed from 17.30h on Fridays and at the weekend, so please do not email us about problems or questions as we will not receive them. Please note that it is very difficult for us to change the time and/or date of events at short notice, so it is imperative that you take great care to be on time for your activities. Please do not contact us to make changes unless there is an emergency. If you miss an activity due to poor time management, no refund is offered.
